Believe it or not, but the 4th of July is closer than you might think. As you celebrate the anniversary of our break with the British Empire, it’s important not to forget the role coffee played in establishing our independence. For starters, the Boston Tea Party was planned in a coffee house. Additionally, the Americans found that they could import coffee on their own, as opposed to British-controlled tea, furthering the popularity of the drink.
While we don’t grow very much coffee here in the United States, we certainly roast quite a bit of it. This year, for those of you who are feeling particularly patriotic, I figured I’d list the American roasters whose coffee we carry, so you can celebrate in style.
