The filter basket becomes backed up with water and does not release into carafe.I tried with only paper filter and then only gold tone basket. That is not the problem. Also tried with just water- so I know it is not the type of coffee grind.
My first recommendation would be to make sure the lid is attached to the carafe properly - the top of this lid presses up against a spring-loaded stopper in the filter holder to allow your coffee to drip through. In addition, I would verify that the filter holder is seated properly in the machine is - down as far as it goes - so that the stopper is able to be pressed by the lid. If youve tried these things and are still experiencing a problem, I would recommend contacting Cuisinart directly for further assistance.
